A Google form was used to conduct an online survey that was shared on social media with a target audience of 18- 45 year-olds.These were the insights i was able to get:
There’s a low percentage of people who use an app for tracking expenses
Most people keep track of their budget by doing a mental calculation in their head
Qualitative Research
I proceeded to also carry out one-on-one interviews with 5 more users to gain a deeper connection and understanding of insights discovered from the online survey.
Users acknowledge that budgeting is important.
Users had varying degrees of guilt in relation to knowing actual expenses made.
Users found it tiresome keying in various expenses daily using an app.
An easy-to-use product that helps consumers track their expenses would be welcomed by users.
